Charitable giving in 2014 reached an all-time high of more than $358 billion (with a “b”), according to annual philanthropy report, “Giving USA.” By any standard, that’s a tremendous amount of money, and represents nearly 2 percent of this country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
